Our Story

The Cherry Pit Cafe & Pie Shop is a fast casual restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Known as The Comfort Food Specialists, The Cherry Pit offers made from scratch, American favorites along with an extensive homemade pie and cheesecake menu.

Slow Roasted Pot Roast, Chicken Pot Pie, Home-style Meatloaf, hand-pattied Burgers, Sandwiches and Fresh Salads highlight the lunch and dinner offerings. Stuffed French Toast, Crab & Bacon Quiche, The Monte Cristo Sandwich are some of the favorites from the full breakfast menu.

Brownie Supreme, Cherry Crumb, Triple Berry and Lemon Meringue are some of the most popular of more than 20 different pies available every day.

The Cherry Pit Cafe also provides catering for groups of any size.

Brian and April met in 2001 while managing restaurants and bakeries in Las Vegas. They soon married and continued their restaurant careers which took them through several moves around the country. They settled in the Greensboro, NC area in 2005. Brian worked as the Director of Operations for a National chain overseeing restaurants in the South East. April opened and operated one of Greensboro’s first children’s consignment stores. After four children (all girls!), many lessons learned and a continued enthusiasm for creating and serving great food, Brian and April decided to use their combined talents, experience and passion for the restaurant business and open The Cherry Pit Cafe & Pie Shop in July of 2013.

Served in a family friendly, fast casual style, the Cherry Pit Cafe allows their guests to dine at their own pace. Whether enjoying a quick lunch while catching up on your email, entertaining the family at dinner, treating your date to pie and coffee or picking up a carryout, whole pie or catering order, The Cherry Pit Café & Pie Shop can handle all of your dining needs.
